Q: If someone says they want to see you hang your self is that illegal

Generally no--it's more like a curse "I wish you to get Covid"

In some circumstances it could be actionable but that would take money because no lawyer would take the case. Spend the money on getting counseling on any fallout, and how to avoid or deal with creeps like the person who said that.

Q: Hi, my husband and I are residents of Ontario Canada and we received a civil complaint from Drums, PA county of Luzerne.

We purchased a piece of land at Eagle Rock Resort in PA in 2017. We paid dues thru our credit card for a year. We told them we are not able to continue anymore due to financial reason and we stopped the payment. Now, we received this civil complaint against me and my husband. Hope you can help us.... You need to respond to the complaint. Look at the contract--chances are you agreed to service of the complaint. You don't want it to go to default judgment.

Frankly, if there are no points you are better off paying it. Judges tend not to favor those who already got a break, and if you were doing almost 30 over or even 20 over they will consider it a monster break.

I'm not sure how you would fight it without the judge knowing that it was...

Q: How can I be granted emancipation as a pregnant minor under 18?

If I am pregnant and just under the age 16 can a marriage license be granted by a judge if me and my partner are financially stable, have transportation, and a house?

Depends on the age of the partner. A judge may grant a marriage license but it has to be shown to be in your best interests and the parents need to consent.

Q: My 90 year old mother listed her house for sale with Realtor A for $89,900. I told her the asking price was too low.

I called Realtor B and was told her house should be worth "in the $120,000s". My mother promptly called and cancelled the original listing. (they agreed) Realtor A hadn't yet taken any pictures or even put the listing in the MLS. My mother listed with Realtor B for $124,900. The... View More

you need to read the agreement. Unless it was formally terminated, she cant just switch without consequences. The second broker should have asked her/you whether you had a previous listing, and made arrangements. So start with #2 broker.

Q: How do I get a title for a motorcycle the person that owns it abandoned it on my property and is in prison for life

Technically, you would file an action to quiet title. Or you would ask that person to sign the title over to you. Otherwise you treat it as abandoned property, and have it disposed of. To cover yourself I would suggest you notify the police first.

I suggest you follow Mr. Greene's advice, and start by calling the California Civil Liberties Union, ask for their prison rights project, ask them for the names of "cooperating attorneys." They will give you the best shot, but realistically the answer would be in most cases no.

Q: Can a contract clause absolutely eliminate or waive a citizen's right to a trial by jury?

No one goes to jail for most traffic offenses (other than leaving the scene or reckless driving in some states).

If someone is in the crosswalk traffic has to stop. If no one is in it and traffic has a green light they may proceed.

The problem is you drove to the parking lot. The statutes should be on your citation.

If you have improper equipment then you can be cited for operating a vehicle without the correct equipment assuming you are not on your own land--because you had to get there.
