Q: I’m not really sure if this implies to this but my grandmother has had temporary custody of me since last December im 16

Turning 17 in November. I’ve been major depressed (I have serious depression and anxiety) my whole life it’s gotten worse since I’ve been here. Can I leave Home and live with my best friend (she has a job and a stable home) without my gmothers permission?

Not. Not without your grandmothers permission. If she has tc of you, she has the same rights as a parent. If she gives permission for you to you, then you can go. If not, you would need to return to the court that granted custody and petition for your emancipation.

If he paid by credit card or check you should obtain the records to bring to the court to show proof of payment. The court should have issued a receipt, you should try to find it and bring it to the clerk's office. I hope this helps.

First, you and your parents should be aware that the Maryland State legislature just passed a law banning conversion therapy on anyone under the age of 18. The governor has said he will sign it. This pseudoscience has been widely discredited as junk science.

No, you cannot move out without parental consent until you are 18.

If criminal/juvenile charges have been filed, the subject may be removed from the home if any sanctions are imposed. Retaining an attorney is strongly advised.

Such a lawsuit would be barred by the workers compensation statutes. Workers compensation is an exclusive remedy. You should ask your question of an attorney who practices in that field.

If you ran away, she could go to juvenile court to have you determined to be an unruly child. Talk to your father or other family members, school counselor, or children's services.

In Florida you are not emancipated until you turn 18.

Once the juvenile court gets involved, the juvenile court has custody of a child regardless of your guardianship status. Since you are unmarried, the mother will have sole legal custody of the child. And since she is a minor, her parents can stills set rules for her. Yes, your niece is at risk of violating her probation, even if she does so with her mother's consent. "Mom said it was OK" is not a defense.

You should immediately hire a criminal defense attorney with experience in juvenile law and do not talk to the police unless that attorney advises otherwise. The child's future may depend on how well you handle this situation. It is serious.
