A rental property for residential purposes must be habitable for human living. A tenant may seek damages for costs related to making the property habitable and the consequences thereof and offset rental costs in proportion that the inhabitability reduced the justified expectations under the lease... If you do not vacate in 3 days, the landlord may bring an eviction (forcible detainer in legal speak) hearing. During such a hearing, each party will have the opportunity to argue their side. See North Dakota Century Code 47-32. Note that this is general legal information and should not be... View More

In North Dakota you need the other party's consent or a Court order to move, if there is a custody/visitation Judgment giving him time with the child. This being said, I would proceed with caution and consult an attorney before doing so. There are some potential risks to taking off prior to... View More
My ex husband filed the divorced and I can’t claim nor answer because I don’t have a lawyer. It was granted by default.

Possibly. However, this tends to be an uphill battle and you should not assume that the judge will allow your case to be reopened. I see that you are in Illinois, please note that the information I have provided is specific to North Dakota.
For 6 months, the plaintiff didn’t have a lawyer. I’m the defendant. I won full child custody during the school year & every other weekend in the summer. We settled out of court. But my lawyer had to do a lot of communication between the both of us which I was charged for. Plus the... View More

You are out of luck on this one. The plaintiff is not entitled to pay you. It was your choice to hire a lawyer and hiring a lawyer was for your benefit, not the plaintiff's.

Child support is set under the law, you cannot avoid paying child support.

WOULD THIS FALL UNDER FALSE ADVERTISING IN NORTH DAKOTA?
answered on Nov 5, 2017
I'd let this one go. If I advertise bananas are $1 and you come to my store and they are $1.50, I was not necessarily obligated to continue to offer the advertised price.

Child support is the right of the child, not of the parent. If you want to stop child support, get remarried and inform the child support unit. You may need a lawyer if extra steps are required.
My dog (8 lb shihtzu) is at work with me. He was barking at a male employee and said employee was yelling at my dog making him bark even more. When I heard this, I went into the room and saw said employee kick my dog. I'm not sure if he's hurt, I don't think he is. But I just... View More

If they kicked your dog for absolutely no reason, report it to police. If they kicked your dog because your dog was threatening them, let it go. Whether you're allowed to bring your dog to work depends on your work's policies. I know very few workplaces that are welcoming to dogs. Hope that helps!

A judge may consider your preference at the judge's discretion. However, the judge is not required to agree with your preference.

Does the Sherrif have the right to use my name like this to another civilian without evidence or at least a criminal history.
answered on Oct 16, 2017
It sounds like the Sheriff may be attempting to have you be the main suspect in a crime. Although the sheriff is permitted to ask, you should retain an attorney if criminal charges have been pressed.

The thirteen year-old victim/witness should certainly appear for all court proceedings and may consider retaining an attorney if the prosecutor is not properly advocating for the victim. With that being said, there is nothing per se that would prohibit a victim from leaving the state unless a court... View More

You need a lawyer to address these issues. Self-help is unfruitful.
