Q: Can a 16 yr old boy sleep with and have sex with a 15 yr old girl?

The parents can't do anything about it. When the issue is addressed the boy and girl cause a big argument. The girl is the one that talks the boy into how he's acting. Her parents put her on birth control because she's been having sex for awhile now with others. Her dad is in jail... View More

Under Oklahoma’s “Romeo and Juliet” law, consensual sex between two minors is not a crime as long as each individual is at least 14 years of age and younger than 18 years of age.

If the girl’s family is as dysfunctional as you describe, you might turn to the boy’s parents or...

Unfortunately, the age of majority is 19 in Alabama. If you are seeking to be treated as an adult, and be able to enter contracts (like leasing an apartment) you would need to be emancipated.

You don’t say which court found him guilty or give his age. If he was found guilty in Municipal, Justice, County, or Circuit, that tells me that he is not a juvenile. The Court will look to your son to pay the fine, not either of the parents, custodial or not. He committed the crime, so he pays... View More

Q: Is there a law in Texas regarding sleeping arrangements for biological children?

Specifically, children sleeping with adults. And is there a requirement for space for a child? Or is it ok for a mom, her “husband” (by title only, no actual marriage), her son (not the son of the “husband”), and their daughter to live in one room in another person’s house?

It depends on the age of each occupant. Texas law limits occupancy to three adults per bedroom. A landlord can impose a more restrictive rule, for example limiting occupancy to two adults per bedroom.

If the children are minors, however, federal law prohibits housing discrimination...
