Q: i live in Kansas. i have collection agency trying to collect money for a fine i owed the county. i never gotbilled by co

the 1st bill i received came from collections? since i had no contract with collections, do i have to pay them? Are they allowed to take me to court if i dont?

If you owe the money, it does not matter if they gave you prior notice or that it is being collected by their collection agency.

Their insurance should have to cover if the home owner (or renter) caused some kind of dangerous condition to cause your fall. If the fall was your fault and there was nothing wrong with the stairs, then you would likely not have a cause of action that would make their insurance liable. Best to... View More

Yes, it could be malpractice. Perforation of the bowel can happen with, or without malpractice. A perforation alone does not indicate malpractice.

Before you make an irreversible mistake, hire a competent KS attorney to search the title. The secured loan may be the decisive factor, but at least look into what you own and then decide whether to convey it away for nothing.

Whoever determined you were the sole heir might execute an Affidavit of Heirship. Record this as your source of title.

Hire a KS attorney to search the title and determine heirship. You might be an heir, thus tenant in common. If so stay there forever or sue for Partition. On the Deed, apparently it was your mistake and you cannot complain about it.

If you file a voluntary bankruptcy petition, you will be signing Schedules of ALL your assets and debts, under penalty of perjury. So yes, you must "file" on every debt you have at the date you file for bankruptcy relief.

If the police officer is more than 50% at fault for the collision, then the city he works for will be liable for that percentage of all your damages. I would definitely keep the original ticket, request a trial, and offer the original ticket into evidence. It may be enough to create a reasonable doubt as to the time of your traffic stop which sounds like it is a determinative fact in your particular situation.

Read the terms of your insurance policy and your premium invoice. If you have full coverage, or if you paid for full coverage, you may be able to sue your insurance company.

If not, you may be able to sue your insurance agent for not obtaining full coverage despite your instructions to do so.
