Allready went to a hearing to amend parts of the order and informed the judge of the spelling error but it wasn't still incorrect on the new copy. Does this make the order invalid? Seeing as that's not my name
answered on Sep 20, 2024
It is most likely valid. You know it is you; the other person knows it's you; and I am sure the police will know it's you when they show up.
Hello! I have a J2 visa - my husband kicked me out of the house. He is a narcissist, he was a psychological terror for almost 2 years, I am sure he cheated on me too. I work and I am fine. But I would like to know what I can do to stay here legally and disassociate myself from him.
answered on Sep 18, 2024
I'm sorry to hear about your situation. If you're on a J2 visa, your legal status is tied to your husband's J1 visa. However, you may have options to remain in the U.S. independently. You could consider applying for a change of status, such as an adjustment to a work visa or student... View More

It's important to understand the laws in your area regarding impounded vehicles and who is allowed to access them. Typically, tow companies and impound lots have strict rules about who can enter a vehicle that has been impounded. Only the registered owner or someone authorized by the owner can... View More

Served a subpoena again?
answered on Sep 10, 2024
Yes, the subpoena would have to reflect the new trial date so you would need to be re-served with the subpoena.
I feel like they are covering their tracks. In July they gave the ultimatum to accept new role or I could leave. Now they are saying they should have done things differently. It feels like they are being untruthful. Multiple people were in the same position and the role was outsourced and we were... View More

Can't answer "did I commit a crime" with just a few stated facts. But I can suggest: Don't discuss it with anyone or on the internet, especially with police. Instead, the one exception: discuss with your lawyer.

I was pulled over on I-494. The officer checked my ID and insurance and told me to sit tight. Then he drove off leaving me astrayed for an hour. Is this legal? What can I do?
answered on Aug 31, 2024
Being left stranded by a police officer after being pulled over is not typical and may raise some legal concerns. Law enforcement officers are expected to conduct traffic stops in a manner that ensures your safety. Leaving you alone on a highway without any explanation or further instructions could... View More
It is an homage to adult swim, but I paid for the font and don't use actual adult swim imagery. Am I at risk of a lawsuit or takedown of my channel if I continue to use this font?
answered on Aug 31, 2024
Using the same font and brackets as Adult Swim for your Twitch logo, even if you purchased the font, could still pose legal risks. While paying for the font is a positive step, it doesn't grant you the right to imitate a distinctive style that is closely associated with another brand,... View More
I live in an apartment complex. Entry doors are directly across from each other. My neighbor put a ring doorbell on their door which looks directly into my house and records our activity whenever we come and go.
answered on Aug 31, 2024
In your situation, the use of a security camera doorbell that faces directly into your front door raises valid concerns about privacy. While these devices are typically used for security purposes, when they capture footage of areas beyond the owner's property, such as your entryway, it can... View More

No, they would need a signed copy. That signed copy could be digital. Depending on the county, most warrants are sent to the court digitally and "signed" by the court digitally. Law enforcement is good to go once the warrant has been authorized by the court.

You can go to the DMV for new plates. I doubt that you simply have your original plates reinstated particularly if you permitted someone who was drunk and did not have a license to drive your car.

Unfortunately, no. You should be released if they exceed the legal timeline to hold you before seeing a judge, however, dismissal is not a remedy for being held beyond the legal timeframe.
I was never notified by police via any sort of correspondence or phone call, in fact the police didn't even know it belonged to me, thus how could it be my fault they disposed of the rifle?

If the police didn't even know it belonged to you, how could they notify you? File a claim with the City if you wish.

Your ex what? Wife? Girlfriend? Why can't you just block her? How did she take and sell everything in your home? So many questions. An attorney may evaluate your situation if you are planning on hiring one.

Mostly likely yes, if you was on private property, and was not in your vehicle at the time of the stop, the cop can still stop you. Was it your private land? If not, it doesn't probably matter.
