Q: I am an American citizen and want to trademark and artist's name in Canada - can I do that?

I would like to do it as an intent to use, seeing as right now there's no music to release. That being said, it would be great to start using the name as soon as possible and register it as the name for a registered songwriter/artist in Canada. Is it possible to trademark the same name in the... View More

Yes, a US citizen can register a trademark in both the United States and Canada. There are international treaties that allow US trademark owners to extend their trademark rights to other countries and vice versa. You should speak with a trademark attorney on how to register your mark.

I have asked the personal representative on several occasions for an update on my mother's estate and have received no information. I want to submit my questions to the probate office of Superior Court of DC, is there a form to complete with the questions or can I just submit them in a Word format?

Q: In a minor car accident 6/14/17 in D.C. Other person is filing a lawsuit, letter from lawyer dated 7/24/17. Can she?

The car accident was minor and occurred in Washington D.C. I lived in VA at the time and the other person lived in MD. This happened 6/30/14 but the letter from her lawyer is dated 7/24/17. Is this not outside the statute of limitations? And since D.C. is a no fault district, does this apply at all?
